crazy rules in a minor Hungarian journal
Hi there,
I have a special problem. The journal I have to use has some crazy citation rules.
The requirements are mixed from Nature and Vancouver, in a way that is possibly the worst for authors.
The bibliography has to be in alphabetic order, but instead of Doe et. al. you have to give numbers based on the order and use these numbers in the text. If you have one added reference the whole thing collapses.
The other rule is that you can only name the first 3 authors, after them "et. al.", except Hungarian articles, where all of the authors has to be named. I doubt it is possible to code without a new field where you could determine if it is Hungarian or not manually.
The Editor promised me to start the process to transfer to a modern approach but the respected Board mostly consists of elderly professors who never used a computer to write papers.

https://www.zotero.org/styles?q=id:american-medical-association-alphabetical is pretty close.
The distinction between Hungarian and non-Hungarian articles is indeed not possible with Zotero (though one actually can do this with some effort and using unofficial features.)
