Bibliography broken and shows as rtf tags

For some reason my bibliography is broken and only shows as tags, not as links as before.

It still looks good and all the data is there, it’s just not rendering as it should (will try to attach a pic).

I tried the 8 troubleshooting steps: copying to new doc and duplicating it shows the same problem.
Removing and adding the bibliography shows sometimes {updating..} , then the rtf tagged text.
Starting from scratch works for a while and breaks then too.
Can it be a broken citation? Can I fix it somehow?

    Ah, yes, that would have been helpful information.
    I am using google docs with the latest version.

    Reboot etc did not help either, re-adding the bibliography neither.

    The bibliography is starting with
    {\rtf <

    Which browser are you using? Can you provide steps to reproduce this in a new document? Could you submit a Report ID?

    Browser is chrome.

    Reproduction might be hard, since it’s not always the same one.
    I’ll try a report id
