Zotero/CSL have been approached by the ACS publications office, which specifically requested that they only provide a single, standardized citation style for all ACS journals (as indicated in the above post), including the DOI. For the publications office, the DOI is the most important piece of the reference. I strongly recommend leaving them intact.
It's not for a publication. My course requires me to use JACS style in a "paper" and there is no DOI in reference in JACS. I wonder how I can generate an ACS style bibliography without DOI.
Thanks! I will talk with my instructor. At the same time, after editing the CSL, do I use "Save As..." to save the modified style? I did that, but it seems Zotero doesn't list my modified style in the style manager.
Be sure to change the style id and title at the top of the style. Then you need to double click to install the new style into zotero and then select it in your document.
