I'm getting this error by implementing a citation from my zotero in word 2010:

CSL error

citationID=4eUa7oxA
noteIndex=0
atarray citationsPre index 0, from citation at document position 1

could you pleas help me?

best regards

  • Does it work in a new document? If so, see Debugging Broken Documents.
  • yes it does. Thanks for the advice. I'll check it.
  • If those steps work, let us know what exactly fixes it.

    it was solved by copying the content of the 'error' document to a new document. The only problem with that is, that the changes are not longer marked in the new 'repaired' document.
  • Meaning you were using Track Changes in the original document?

    That's Step 1, so don't skip that one. You generally will need to accept all changes and disable Track Changes before using the plugin further.
  • Does the original document "repair" if you restart Zotero?
  • @dstillman yes, did it. I know, I've read it on the 'debugging broken documents' page you linked to my first post.
  • @adomasven maybe, but it's a collaboration doc so I need to wait until all changes are implemented and then I'll can check it again after accepting all changes in the original doc.
  • Could you perform the step 8 of debugging broken documents and find a small snippet of the document that reproduces the issue, then send it to support@zotero.org with a link to this thread? It might be the case that you need to leave in 2 or 3 parts of the document to consistently reproduce this problem (i.e. somewhere early in the document, and somewhere late, or maybe one part that has track changes, and another one that doesn't).
  • @adomasven thanks for the advice. Maybe I can do it today, but it will take a bit of time. I think you're right, that ther are some problematic citations. Zotero ask me in the process, to or not to change citations by implementing new ones.
  • It is 99% track changes that is throwing off Zotero. We may have a bug in the integration module, but cannot reproduce it ourselves or fix it without a test case. Make sure that the snippet you produce still triggers the error you are seeing (instead of other errors, such as prompts for modified citation text).
