Ipad and zotero functioning

Zotero native functioning app on the iPad is very much needed. iPads are starting to replace laptops, and will likely continue in this trend.

At the very least, (and I’m not sure if i am missing something), but I wish firefox, chrome, and/or safari on the iOS iPad system had a icon button to send article to my zotero library. I lost that funtionality when i switched from my laptop to tablet and have not found a why to get it back.

You can save using the Zotero bookmarklet, as well as scan barcodes to add physical books.
  • This is great news and I wish all the best luck in finding someone with this skill set.
  • Hi all,

Zotero is the only thing that blocks me to switch to Ipad Pro. You cannot add the zotero module to word app.

If you have a solution I will be glad to know it !
Do you know if Zotero has planned to be available, in iOS word application?

    Bye
  • As shown above, Zotero is hiring an iOS developer. Integration with Word is presumably one of the intended features.

You can at the moment use the Shortcuts app to insert plain text citations or placeholders for the RTF Scan or ODF Scan functions:

Fantastic news! In the new Zotero iOS, please add the full search features of the desktop version and the "copy footnote" feature. I'm now working almost exclusively on iPad and online version of Zotero has only rudimentary search and only allows to export bibliographic citations. Thank you @bwiernik for the apppademic.tech links--they are very useful in general--but I work in Ulysses/Bear and cite a lot of archival documents so RTF/ODF Scan route does not work for me. Really look forward to the iOS version!
  • These shortcuts for citing on iOS are gorgeous!
  • Hello Everyone!

Does anyone have any idea if the app is currently being developed and in that case, when we could expect it to be launched? I’m in the same position as many other’s, seamless integration between IOS Word/Ulysses and Zotero would help my workflow and enable a full transition from mac to Ipad.

    All the best!
  • It is currently being developed. Not sure where its expected arrival is.
  • Wow, thanks for the kind words. I made these shortcuts. I have been head down on the thesis, so really happy to find people are using them. I need to update them!! Shortcuts can do all kinds of neat things now, they can be improved for sure.
  • @erazlogo there are a whole bunch of shortcuts. Let me know your workflow, I might have something that will work for you. The shortcuts can be adapted. :)
  • @jbpyn You did help me! I created a bunch from your instructions--I linked several in the other thread: https://forums.zotero.org/discussion/comment/326583/#Comment_326583
I'm still using them and they work perfectly. Thank you!
