Upload an "own" citation style based on an already existing one?

Hey community,

I created a citation style (based on an already existing one) which I'd like to provide for everyone else in the citation style repository. So my question is: Is this generally possible and if so, unter which conditions - in particular concerning the already existing style my style is based on?

Possible for sure: https://github.com/citation-style-language/styles/blob/master/CONTRIBUTING.md
And since it's based on another style, you'd add it as the template style. For example see line 8 in this style: https://github.com/citation-style-language/styles/blob/068d06239995a47bb3b19f649000658e0a996f6a/archiv-fur-die-civilistische-praxis.csl

What journal/institution is this style for?

Also note https://github.com/citation-style-language/styles/wiki/Criteria-for-Accepting-Styles to see whether the style is suitable for the repository -- even if it's not, you would be able to share the style either way, e.g. through just linking to it (there's a specific license -- Creative Commons BY-SA -- on all styles that specifically allows you to reuse, modify, and reshare them).
