Zotero connector not not saving references (Pubmed/Sciencedirect)
For about two weeks now, each time that I click on my zotero connector icon, nothing happens.
Beforehand I would have a little pop-up telling me exactly what was being saved and where from, now nothing is displayed. When i then access my zotero library to double check, i can confirm that nothing new has been saved.
I've tried to save references for multiple different articles from Pubmed and Sciencedirect, nothing seems to work.
I've generated a Debug ID if that can help : D781665629.
I also went through the trouble shooting page and checked that everything was compatible/up to date, all seems fine. Before I only used Zotero online, I didn't have the desktop application. Since the problems started, I have downloaded the desktop application but this did not sync with my online library - an issue apart, but in any case, this did not solve the problem of saving references.
I do wonder is it's not a anti-virus/firewall issue but my colleagues do not seem to have this problem.
Can anybody offer a solution?

craiglperkinsI'm having a similar problem with Zotero 5.0.55, and an up-to-date Firefox with connector. Clicking "Save to Zotero" causes the following message to appear: "An error occurred saving with ScienceDirect. Attempting to save using Embedded Metadata instead." A record does get created in the target Zotero folder, however data is missing from the author fields and the pdf does not get saved. Here is an link that causes this to happen. https://doi.org/10.1016/j.solener.2017.01.048
