Zotero 5.0 Repeatedly Crashing Word 2007

Hello folks! Word won't open Zotero anymore. It used to work fine, until a couple of days ago when word started crashing. I have tried all the troubleshooting suggestions I have found online, I have reinstalled the Word add-on and moved the .dotm document around dozens of times, I even uninstalled and reinstalled the program itself. Please help! Deadlines keep coming and it has created much inconvenience...

    Thanks for your reply! Both programs work fine on their own. The zotero extension is visible on word, but when I click any of the zotero buttons, all word documents crash instantly and word stops working. No message appears; it just crushes. Meanwhile, zotero is open and working fine.

    I cannot tell if it is word or zotero's fault since both work fine until I try to insert any citations on word.

    I'm afraid we only support Word 2010 and later, so your best bet is to upgrade.
