accidentally deleted Collections

Help! I had several collections that, due to some temporary glitch, appeared twice in the left-hand column of my library. To clear space, I stupidly deleted the duplicate folders, but my account deleted the entire collection (I did not, thankfully, delete the items as well). Is there any way I can recover these collections???

Hi, just a note that I came across the exact same condition: duplicate subfolders appearing in one of my collections, I deleted them, and whan I was done deleting the duplicates suddenly the collection was entirely empty!

I restored the collections using dstillman'a method, but there's a rather stupid glitch that makes spurious duplicates appear, it seems.
