“Style Error: [Emerald - Harvard]”

According to the Emerald style guide (http://www.emeraldgrouppublishing.com/authors/guides/write/harvard.htm) there should be an alphabetical sufix when "authors have published more than once a year" (i.e., use 1999a, 1999b)

It should be something like:

<citation et-al-min="3" et-al-use-first="1" disambiguate-add-givenname="true" disambiguate-add-year-suffix="true" collapse="year" cite-group-delimiter=", ">

Instead of:

<citation et-al-min="3" et-al-use-first="1" disambiguate-add-year-suffix="true" disambiguate-add-names="true" collapse="year">

    You'll need to put it into code bracks like this: <code>asdf</ code> (remove the space after /).

    Currently this prints out like this for me:
    In text:
    (Mares, 2001a, 2001b; Rodríguez, 2017)
    (Campbell and Pedersen, 2007)
    (Mares, 2001a)

    Bibliography:

    You see I made copies of these entries in Zotero and ONLY changed the title.
    So if it maybe doesn't work for you is if there are some small discrepancies between the authors, most likely with first names/initials.

    If you change the order of any of the remaining authors (not the first one) this is what happens:

    In text: (Accadia, Acernese, et al., 2012; Accadia, LastName2, et al., 2012)

    References:

    Note that the in-text refernce is wrong.

    It's not clear that that's incorrect, since you're now actually looking at two different author groups. Some citation styles still use a, b in those cases, others prefer to add names to the in-text citation to make this clear. The description of the emerald style doesn't make clear which they prefer; it only is clear of what to do for identical groups.

    I agree that this specific case is not documented (at least I was not able to find it).

    However, the Editorial Team of an Emerand Journal told me that they expect an alphabetical suffix. Since this is my only source of information, I tend to believe that it should be that way. Moreover, I asked a collegue to apply the Emerald Harvard style in Citavi. As a matter of fact, it also produce references with an alphabetical sufix.

    OK, that'll do; we'll fix that. (other reference manager's styles aren't really any clue -- they might be just as much incorrect as Zotero's)
