Style Request: Asia Pacific Journal of Human Resources

Hi,

Asia Pacific Journal of Human Resources uses the parenthetical (author–date) system of referencing. Text citations consist of the author’s name (or the title of the work if no author is indicated), the date of publication, and page citation (if appropriate): (Dowling 1999, 82). If there are two or three authors, use ‘and’: Smith and Jones (2001) and (Smith and Jones 2001).

Books: Cox Jr T (2001) Creating the multicultural organization: A strategy for capturing the power of diversity. John Wiley & Sons, Inc, San Francisco, CA.

Articles, papers, or chapters appearing in collections: Boxall P, P Haynes and K Macky (2007) Employee voice and voicelessness in New Zealand. In What workers say: Employee voice in the Anglo-American workplace, eds RB Freeman, P Boxall and P Haynes, 145–165. ILR Press, Ithaca, NY.

Articles or papers appearing in journals: Bardoel, EA, H De Cieri and C Santos (2008) A review of work–life research in Australia and New Zealand. Asia Pacific Journal of Human Resources 46(3), 316–333.

Online sources: OECD (2009). OECD Statistical extracts. http://stats.oecd.org/Index.aspx?DataSetCode=ANHRS (accessed 6 June 2011).

Please cite doi number of the document if that is available.

I couldn't find a style file on the Zotero repository.

Please Help. Thanks
  • Please format the two references requested here (the Campbell article and the Mares chapter):
    https://github.com/citation-style-language/styles/wiki/Requesting-Styles

This is very close to American Psycholgical Association in the mean time.
  • Thanks for your prompt response.
I tried editing the style from the link you shared but I didn't really get how to do this on my own.
I do agree it is very similar to the APA style.
Would it be possible that anyone from the Zotero team with the tech know how please edit it? This way it will be available as a simple style file for future users.
    Thankyou
  • No, we don’t need you to edit the style itself, just format those two references (the chapter and the journal article) so that they meet the style guidelines. We need these two specific references, not just any examples like you gave in your first post, because they help to automate a big part of the style writing process.
  • Thanks for clearing that up. Here are the formatted references:

Campbell, JL, & Pedersen, OK (2007) The varieties of capitalism and hybrid success. Comparative Political Studies, 40(3), 307–332. https://doi.org/10.1177/0010414006286542

Mares, I (2001) Firms and the welfare state: When, why, and how does social policy matter to employers? In Varieties of capitalism. The institutional foundations of comparative advantage, eds PA Hall & D Soskice, 184–213. Oxford University Press, New York
  • I'll make the style.
Just out of interest, as this happens again and again, and I finally want to understand this.
You're very likely an academic. So one of the 2% of people going to/finished with postgrad education and yet we had to explain in detail what is needed for the style request, and I think it is actually fairly easy to understand. And actually still information is missing (ISSN, link to a publication, link to author guidelines).
We as volunteers here give up our free time to help this community and the OpenSource project that is CSL/Zotero, so I wonder why people are not even reading properly and supply a handful of pieces of information. Or is it not understandable, complicated or too much asked?
  • Thankyou so much. I really appreciate it.

I am sorry I didn't provide all of the required details in my request.
I didn't really know that you guys have specific requirements of information until bwiernik kindly shared the github link. Please accept my sincerest apology and gratitude for your priceless efforts for the Zotero community.

    Here is the missing information:

    In-text citation:
    (Campbell and Pedersen 2007)
    (Mares 2001)
    e-ISSN :1744-7941
Link to a publication (freely available):
    https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/abs/10.1111/1744-7941.12152
    Link to author guidelines: https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/page/journal/17447941/homepage/forauthors.html
  • I think damnation’s question was more about your confusion after I shared the link, where you thought I wanted you to edit the style yourself. Could something be clearer on the page I linked to?
