Repeated bibliographic data

Good morning,

When citing two or more book sections from a single edited volume, zotero duplicates all the publication data in each citation when proper usage requires only a short title after the first citation. It seems not to recognize that multiple sections belong to the same single volume. Is there a way to correct this?

thanks,
Courtney
  • not currently, no. We'll likely not be able to do this for quite a while, until we have some way to tell Zotero in the data that multiple chapters belong to the same volume.
Just letting the citation processor do the work here - i.e. check whether two volumes are the same - is too messy (and probably also too slow).
  • Any progress or plans on this? The book meta-data is identical across book sections, only author, title and pages change. Doing a find - replace at the last minute is not a huge task, but it is not very like Zotero ...

No, this realistically isn't any closer than it was 5 years ago. It's still a nice to have, but I don't see it being a huge priority given the relationship between effort (which is significant) and payoff.
