While this doesn't directly affect me now, this might something worth considering for a future revision. For each of the abstracts I set up a Note indicating my own 'rank' of whether the article was worth fully researching or not. When I used the search function to look up 'Rank 0', 'Rank 2', 'Rank 3', 'Rank 4', or 'Rank 5', the search correctly indicated all of the abstracts with those Notes attached. But if I looked up 'Rank 1', for whatever reason Zotero showed all records in my library, as if '1' was being used as a Wildcard in some fashion.
