No italics for genome names

When I save citations using the google chrome add-on, no italics are kept and I cannot add them in on the application. I can add them in the bibliography on word but they are lost when another citation is added as the list updates. Is there a way to change it so that it keeps the citations when I save them or add them in on the application? I'm using the Cell citation style
  • Not many bibliographic exchange formats support rich text well and virtually no publishers support this in the backends that we rely on for import translators. It is unlikely there will be wide-ranging rich text support on import in the future because of this (and even when considering it on a translator-by-translator basis, the answer will usually be that it isn't worth it.

    However, you may modify a zotero record to add rich text markup manually.
  • Except BibTeX. BibTeX supports italics and Zotero will create the html-ish markup on import.
