Moving Library from Mendeley to Zotero
I am trying to move about 900 files from Mendeley to Zotero. I saved the library as a .biblx (not sure if that is the correct ending) and imported it into Zotero. All the abstracts, file names and other information saved; however, only some of the files that were attached in Mendeley copied over. Does anyone know why? Also, is there a better way to do it to ensure all files transfers as well? Thank you!

Moving from Mendeley to Zotero is much harder than the reverse direction. Mendely's export functions don't transfer some data (e.g., folders/collections, PDF annotations).
Here are some step-by-step guides for migrating using Mendeley's native tools (which miss the data mentioned above). These should bring along all of your PDFs:

Several people have written tools to export the missing data as well (these require a bit of technical skill to follow):

I have same issu as Wastetoenergysystems when exporting my mendeley folders to Zotero. Pdf files where randomly attached in Zotero.
Problem solved with exporting in .RIS format (and not .BIB). Every .pdf files are now correctly attached in Zotero.
I have to outline that migration to Zotero took me less than 1/2hour (1600 refs, with attached pdf sorted in 30 folders...). It was rather fast and easy.
I followed more or less the " http://thedigitalresearcher.com/how-to-import-your-mendeley-library-into-zotero/ " solution. But I export each Mendeley Library Folder separetly (as . RIS !) and directly import them in Zotero.
Bye bye mendeley...
