Error occurred in syncing when I tried to "restore to online library"

I am using Zotero version 5.044 on Windows 10.

My group libraries are missing attachments. They are all loaded on my local version of Zotero on my desktop. So I want to "restore to online library", so that I can overwrite online library with local zotero data.

PS. I have included my error log file from zotero.


- I went to settings and unchecked "sync automatically".
- I kept checked "sync full-text context"
- File syncing is checked for "sync attachments in my library using Zotero, download files "at sync time".
Also, checked box for "sync attachment files in group libraries using zotero storage, download files at sync time.

I then choose my group library.

I first checked, "reset file sync history" and did "reset".

I then checked "restore to online library".

During the syncing, the message is:

"An error occured during syncing cannot change 'mtime' directly in group library.

THIS IS URGENT BECAUSE WHEN I GO ON THE WEB, SEE MANY ATTACHMENTS THAT ARE MISSING WITH A NOT CHECK BOX.

    Note that that's really not what "Restore to Online Library" is for. As the pane says, these options aren't meant for troubleshooting, and they can cause more problems and make things much harder to debug. Normal syncing syncs all your data, so if that's not happening, we just need to debug that.

    Can you provide a Debug ID for a sync attempt that produces these errors?

  • OK, I've looked into this, and you may be able to fix it simply by running Reset File Sync History again and then syncing. If that doesn't work, you can try installing the latest Zotero beta and then trying the same.

    If you're still having trouble after that, provide another Debug ID for a sync that doesn't work.
