Citing the US Department of Agriculture, Economic Research Service spreadsheet

How do I enter the following information source into a Zotero record so I can use it for automatic citation? The following link is to the United States Department of Agriculture, Economic Research Service website and the link afterwards is to the specific spreadsheet containing numbers I wish to cite. Should a link to the website be part of the citation? Thanks for any advice.

  • Use Report and enter the appropriate information.
  • Do you think I should put 'United States Department of Agriculture, Economic Research Service' for both 'institution' and 'author'? Thanks!
  • The citation styles tend to subsitute an author with the institution if there is not author entered automatically.
  • Okay; thanks very much!
  • What I recommend would be to either store "USDA" as the author, so that the in-text citation if any is short, and then "United States Department of Agriculture, Economic Research Service" as the institution. Alternatively, if you want the full institution title to be used in place of an author, enter it just as an institution, then enter it again as a "Contributor". "Contributor" won't be cited (so the department won't appear twice in the bibliography), but it will appear in the list view in Zotero so that you can search for and sort on it.
  • Thanks again; USDA does look better for the inline citation.
