Mobileme, zotero & vista sync settings

Error report 1303214241 sent.

I have tried a variety of settings for mobileme for the server as shown in an earlier thread but continue to get various errors depending on which variety I try.
/idisk.com/[username]/Public, with or without me.com in front, also with documents insetad of public (folder zotero has been reated in both). Also tried idisk.pc.com as parallel to someone I saw using idisk.mac.com, but did not work. http and not secure is OK.
Error is either "did not reach server" or that it is not a valid WebDAV URL.

Help?

Lynn
  • Lynn,

For me, /idisk.me.com/[username]/Documents worked, both secure and open. I found this through Get Info/Cmd-i on my zotero folder. Try it with your Public folder.

  • Hi Guys,
I am also having no luck getting file sync working with my mobileMe idisk. Public folder or documents.
Every option, listed here and in the other threads returns a "not a valid WebDAV Url". i.e. http://idisk.me.com/[username]/Documents/zotero/ is not a valid WebDAV URL. Even using "https"
What other valid WebDAV Urls are out there that I can "test server" to see if this feature even works? I can only assume the Zotero file sync feature is not fully operational.

Have you tried the exact same URL in another WebDAV client?
  • I tried "Bitkinex" and the WebDAV server worked with (idisk.me.com/username/Public AND /Documents). But this still won't work with Zotero.
I'm going to give up for a while and hope it works itself out. Or Zotero releases better instructions.

    Thanks for your help though!

Did you have the "/zotero" appended to this? If not, you didn't try the same URL.

http://idisk.me.com/[username]/Public/zotero worked for me. The folder names seem to be case-sensitive.
  • http://idisk.mac.com/[username]/Public/zotero worked for me. I did a Get Info on my iDisk and copied the URL. I put the zotero file in my public folder because having it out as a document folder didn't seem to work.
  • Is there a canonical document that explains how to set up Zotero syncing with Mobileme? I've just purchased the latter and would like to use that storage for Zotero, but I need some sort of guide to get started. Thanks.
