Ovid (PsycINFO) translator bugs

Hi, the translator for OvidSP has some bugs.
The issues that I noticed:
1. doesn't grab Pdfs
2. no zotero icon on the (html)-fulltext page
3. Journal article titles not grabbed correctly (includes additional stuff in brackets e.g. "[References]")

I've only looked at the PsycINFO database through http://ovidsp.tx.ovid.com/
E.g. a search for "journal of personality and social psychology" should lead you to the problem

Thanks for looking into it.
  • We might be able to do something about 1 and 2, but 3 sounds like a problem with Ovids data formatting. I opened a ticket for the first two issues.

  • Another problem is that books and book-chapters are not scraped correctly.
  • Middle initials and DOI not scraped either.
  • For journal articles retrieved from INSPEC only very few fields are read correctly.
Publication field gets ", vol" appended
Pages, Issue, Volume, DOI, ISSN, URL fields remain emtpy.
Author initials/first names are stored in 'last' (last name) fields (separated by blank); 'first' (first name) fields remain empty.
    Repository field is: Ovid (INSPEC)

The article that I tried (URL does not help because it works only in the IP range of my university):
Journal: physical review letters, volume: 102 first_page: 067207
    Zotero 1.5b2
  • Articles with long journal title names with a comma in the title in Medline aren't exported properly. Whatever is after the comma in the journal title gets dropped off altogether, such as Journal of Obstetric, Gynecologic, & Neonatal Nursing would change to "Journal of Obstetric". I think this is a major problem as providing the wrong journal title can lead to rather serious problems, not to mention it's annoying to have to go back to the original article or search for the article again in order to get the journal title back accurately. Does anyone else have this problem?
