Zotero-Translator for "AquaBrowser"?

The company "ProQuest" produces the "AquaBrowser" -
(http://www.proquest.com/products-services/AquaBrowser.html)
The central library of our province has switched to this browser, but unfortunately it does not work with zotero. Is this because there is no translator for this "AquaBrowser" yet?
Is there any chance there will be a translator in the (near) future?
Regards,
Frank
  • Do you have a link to a library catalog using AquaBrowser? (ideally several different ones)
  • There exists a translator for library catalogs using AquaBrowser: https://github.com/zotero/translators/blob/master/Library Catalog (Aquabrowser).js , but the last change was 3 years ago. The test examples there seem not working anymore.

@adamsmith @frankweber Do you know any (other) library currently using AquaBrowser?

There is a RIS export for each title, which can then be imported into Zotero.
  • Do you know any (other)....
    Unfortunately not.

There is a RIS export for each title,...
I know there is, but of course a working translator would be a lot more comfortable for the users. Is there a possibility for an updated version in the future?
  • I looked into this and just tried to come up with a working translator for the Vorarlberger Landesbibliothek, but unfortunately didn't succed. Here is what I have currently: https://gist.github.com/zuphilip/58701fbce385de5d6f665d1b01e1058e

The website uses iframes, dynamic loading of content and maybe even depends on Flash. This makes it really hard to extract information from that website. Moreover, the metadata in the RIS, which I try to extract automatically in the translator, does not look very good at all: The generic RIS type is used, abstract and tags don't look useful in its current form, all creators have their role attached to their names, and any date information is missing.

I am sorry but I don't think that I will spend more time on this and actually I am a little skeptical that it is worth to do more here.
  • Hi zuphilip,
thanks a lot for your efforts! I will forward your information to the librarian. And I do hope he can do something about this.
    Regards,
    Frank
