Word 2013 crashes when using Zotero 5

Every time I try to import a citation word crashes

    We are aware of the crashing and are trying to diagnose the problem but we need user help in testing a fix. Follow these instructions carefully:

    1. Open zotero installation folder (default C:\Program Files (x86)\Zotero)
    2. Navigate to extensions\zoteroWinWordIntegration@zotero.org
    3. Download test-v120xp-vs2013-cleanup.zip
    4. Remove the contents of the folder you had opened and replace them with the contents from the zip (you will need to navigate to zotero-word-for-windows-integration-test-v120xp-vs2013-cleanup within the zip file).
    5. Restart Zotero

    Use Zotero with Word as you do normally and report whether you still get any crashing (or, whether you don't)

    I completed the process successfully but unfortunately, it didn't work....Word still crashes

    Could you submit another Report ID and describe in more detail what you mean by word crashing?

    Hello again,
    Zotero was working fine these last five days but today the problems started again. Word crashes when I try to add a citation in my text. More specifically this happens while the plug-in tries to communicate with my Zotero library. Word stops working and then it reopens. Its been several times that I lost data because of this...

    I filed a new report. This is the ID: 1299147589

    Sorry about that. We're still looking for a solution. We have had users report that the crash only occurs when inserting in certain locations in their documents and not others. If you can reproduce something like that, could you isolate a snippet of a document (either by creating it from an empty document or copying from an existing one) in which there exists:

    1. A location in which inserting citations is fine
    2. A location in which inserting citations produces a crash

    Could you annotate the snippet in such a way that we could find these locations, test once again to ensure that the behaviour is still consistent after annotation and send it over to support@zotero.org with a link to this thread?

    Also, could you provide the details of your software: version of Windows and version of Word?

    Dear adomsven,

    Crashing happens even with new word documents...I don't think it's the word document the problem. I am trying to reproduce full note footnotes using the Chicago style full note style (17th version). Today while working on this new document word crashed again. I sent a report: 1692503227

    I use windows 7 and word 2013 (not on a mac)

    Do you have multiple Word documents open at the same time? Can you produce the crashing at all if you only have one document open?
