Style Request: The Canadian Journal of Chemical Engineering
Hello Everyone,
I have opened this discussion to request help with creating a citation style for the Canadian Journal of Chemical Engineering.
The style is very similar to the IEEE except that the squared parenthesis references must be in superscript.
Please has anyone created or can help to create the style point me to it if it has already been created?
Here is the link containing the instructions:

Best regards

The following are not perfect:
Edited books / Book Section / Book Chapter
Author Surname, “Chapter/article title,” Book Title, Edition number, Initial. Editor Surname, Eds., Publisher, City of Publication year, page number.
Conferences
Initial. Author Surname, “Paper title,” Conference name, host organization, conference city, day(s) month year.
Example: M. Liu, A. Andrianov, W. R. Rossen, “Sweep Efficiency in CO2 Foam Simulations With Oil,” SPE EUROPEC/EAGE Annual Conference and Exhibition, Society of Petroleum Engineers, Vienna, 23–26 May 2011.
Patents
Country code (for abbreviations: see “CASSI”), number (registration year), holder, inventor(s).

Thanks for the review. I'll get a style made.
edit> check this out. Right click and save as: https://github.com/POBrien333/styles/raw/c2b87acaef03f901cf3e18d353522c43445f4037/the-canadian-journal-of-chemical-engineering.csl
1. Patents: the "holder," (known as assignee in Zotero) is missing after the year
2. Conference paper: "Publisher" is shown instead of the "conference name"
3. Reports: The report number is missing after the title of report. URL is also missing
Best regards
2. conferences: that's fixed. (note it was missing the container-title and it still requires the publisher)
3. fixed
Have a look at this: https://github.com/POBrien333/styles/raw/ae18bf398bdef3abf0d7ade9b222d33218374e86/the-canadian-journal-of-chemical-engineering.csl
1. The "holder" is the company that owns the patents ( In most cases the financer/ employer of the inventor) . The field is called "Assignee" in Zotero. In the example below it is "Farbenfabriken Bayer AG" and comes before the inventor
Example: Ger. 838217 (1952), Farbenfabriken Bayer AG, invs.: W. Lehmann, H. Rinke.
2. It is ok to leave the publisher, however the "conference name" still doesn't show
3. Excellent, thanks a million!
Best regards
@Damnation , please would it be possible to check the missing conference name once again. Thanks as well !

At the moment, the style in the repository (https://www.zotero.org/styles?q=id:the-canadian-journal-of-chemical-engineering) has just a few minor discrepancies - if those could be resolved, we could link to it from our Author Guidelines and within the online submission system.
- Double quotes (") to enclose titles
- Commas inside quotes
- Suppress comma before year (e.g. "Wiley-Interscience, New York, NY 2018")
- "Edition" not abbreviated (e.g. "3rd edition,")
If there are any details that are unclear from the existing Author Guidelines, I'd be happy to answer questions. :)
I apologize for asking late, but I also need this style and would like to try it. However, when I use it as LaTeX class and try compiling the document, LaTeX gives an error "\begin{document}" is missing. What could be the reason (the document compiles Ok using, e.g., article class) and how to get rid of this error?
Thanks a lot in advance!
With best regards,
Timur
Sorry for the late reply. this one must've slipped our attention.
Just fixed these:
- Double quotes (") to enclose titles DONE (style switched to US language)
- Commas inside quotes (didn't change anything. already does it; see Mares 2001 example below)
- Suppress comma before year (e.g. "Wiley-Interscience, New York, NY 2018") DONE
- "Edition" not abbreviated (e.g. "3rd edition,") DONE
