Unable to install Zotero plugin on Word

Report ID: 1679053715

My word version is 15.15, and I could not find the plugin. I followed the instruction online and tried manually installing the plugin, but nothing happened.

When I clicked onto Zotero Preferences -> Cite -> Word processors, it only stated that the Libra-Office add-in is not currently installed, with no information on Microsoft word.

Thanks in advance for the help.

Edited: I thought the problem was solved as I could see the plugin in word. However, I was told that "Word could not communicate with Zotero." I was under the impression that this was caused by the following:

When I clicked onto Zotero Preferences -> Cite -> Word processors, it only stated that the Libra-Office add-in is not currently installed, with no information on Microsoft word.

I tried reinstalling but it doest help, @adamsmith do you have any advice on this?
  • If you go in Zotero to Tool->Add-ons, do you see the Word Integration there?

@adomasven Do we know why the Word integration extension seems to be missing a lot recently?
  • @bwiernik Yes I can see it there! It was originally stated as "disabled", so I enabled it and went back to check Preferences -> Cite -> Word processors. Then the information on Microsoft Word suddenly appeared. I then reinstalled the Microsoft Word Add-in, and I can now use the plugin.

Thank you so much for your help and patience! I am not too knowledge in technology and computers, so thank you once again for helping out.
