Mac Word 2016 plug in using safari

Can I install a plugin for word 2016 on a Mac so I can do in text citations? I am using safari as my browser

    do you have Zotero Standalone installed?

    I see that the discussion was never followed through.. I have Zotero standalone and using the newest versions of Mac OS X and safari and word 2016. I even followed the instructions of manually installing the plugin in word. I don't know how to make it work. there is no tab in Word that contains Zotero. please help.

    Update to the latest version of Mac OS Word (15.39 currently), then reinstall the plugin from Zotero Preferences pane.
