Financial Times translator giving an error message.

I submitted the errors from my Safari Zotero Connector using the report ID: 717660638.

When I try to use the zotero connector to save to Mac Standalone Zotero (v 4.0.21.5) from any financial times page, the following error appears:

An error occurred while saving this item. Check Known Translator Issues for more information.

This is from any URL on FT.com (example: http://www.ft.com/cms/s/0/b9a1cb08-467c-11df-9713-00144feab49a.html#axzz38Z7LAfyM)

I have also submitted the errors from my zotero standalone with the ID: 542505291

The translator name is Financial Times. The OS is Mac OSX Mavericks 10.9.4 and the browser is Safari Version 7.0.5 (9537.77.4).

hope someone can help rectify the translator issue - FT.com is always useful for business and economics research.

    perhaps it's related to Financial Time's subscription system, so the problem would be on theier side...

  • no, our problem, working on a fix.
  • A translator fix is now up. Your version of Zotero will automatically update within 24hs, or you can update manually using the "Update Now" button in the "General" tab of the Zotero preferences. If you're using Standalone, restart Zotero and your browser after updating.

  • I am also working on a Mac and have Zotero standalone installed. I just tried to save an article from www.ft.com from Safari and got the same error (An error occurred while saving this item. Check Known Translator Issues for more information.) I tried updating Zotero and restarting both my browser and Zotero standalone, but the error persists. Any suggestions?

  • Sorry. The error Report ID is 1733164376. On Safari's Zotero Connector it also says JavaScript Error: "No title specified for Item".

  • Should be fixed now. Update your translators via Zotero Preferences -> General -> Update Now. Restart your browser and give it another go.

  • The FT translator is unfortunately not working again due to changes in the website. Creates multiple entries.
