links between .pptx files

Hi,

I use Zotero to store and open .pptx files in a group Library. There are links between these powerpoint documents (i.e. you click on a hyperlink in one presentation to open another). I can make it work on my computer by setting the hyperlink to the folder where the 2nd presentation is located. However, this will of course not work for colleagues on their own computer. Is there a way to make it work ? I guess a solution may be to have all .pptx files in the same folder, but is this possible ?

You can make a link either to the item in the local Zotero library or to the item on he Zotero.org website using the methods here:
https://zoteromusings.wordpress.com/2013/04/23/zotero-item-uris-from-client/

Insert either of those links, rather than the links to your local file.

But the zotero select link would be one step removed -- it wouldn't open the PPT but the Zotero item.

The only idea I have is to link to the copy of the file online, which takes the form:
https://www.zotero.org/[groupname]/items/[fileID]/file

Thanks for your ideas. I just tried your solution, Adam, but unfortunately the file doesn't open right away. The browser asks to download the presentation, which then has to be opened "manually"...
