Webdav server could not be reached. Proxy error?

I just changed from the Firefox Zotero to the Zotero standalone 5.0 and I'm using Ubuntu.

Before the change, I was using our local webdav server for storage sync and since I'm behind the company proxy, I had the webdav address in the proxy_ignore list (in firefox preferences).

Since I moved to the standalone version (v5.0), I keep recieving the message that the webdav server could not be reached so I'm suspecting that it's a proxy issue. But I could not figure out how to manage zotero proxy settings. Is that possible? How can I put an address in the proxy_ignore list?

    Do you mean network.proxy.no_proxies_on? You can access hidden prefs in Zotero from the Config Editor button in the Advanced pane of the preferences.

    I found that option and set 'network.proxy.no_proxies_on = localhost, 127.0.0.1, .cnptia.embrapa.br'

    cnptia.embrapa.br being my base url. But I'm still getting 'server could not be reached' when I try to connect to my webdav. And just to be sure, data syncing with the zotero server is working.

    Tryed every possible combination in the "network.proxy.no_proxies_on" option but I'm still getting the error that my Webdav server could not be reached. I know that the Webdav is working because I can get it to sync in another computer that's plugged in another network. What else can I do to troubleshoot this problem?

    I reinstalled Zotero Standalone from ppa:smathot/cogscinl just in case I had some messed up installation. But still, I can't get to my webdav server. Any chance that the network.proxy.no_proxies_on option is not working?

    Some more info: If I change the webdav URL to anything outside my local network, instead of the 'server could not be reached error', I get 'is not a valid WebDAV URL' error. This means that the bogus webdav address could be reached while my real webdav address cannot be reached.

    To be clear, this isn't something we've ever tested — I just suggested network.proxy.no_proxies_on because you said "proxy_ignore" (which as far as I know doesn't exist), and Firefox settings should generally work in Zotero. You'd want to make sure any relevant settings in about:config match Firefox's configuration. If you're still having trouble, I can take a look at this.

    GREAT! Your mention of Firefox settings saved the day :)
    Looking at my firefox profile 'prefs.js' file, I found out that the network.proxy.type was set to 1, while in Zotero about:config it was set to 5. Changing network.proxy.type to 1 and setting all the other proxy config options just like in firefox made everything work again. Thanks!
