Brill translator "an error occured"

Hi all,
This site:

http://booksandjournals.brillonline.com.ezproxy.lib.monash.edu.au/content/journals/10.1163/15685373-12342102

won't let me save the reference.
Zotero Connector 5.0.11
Zotero 5.0.8-beta (assume that's not relevant?)
Firefox 54
Windows 10

  • I can confirm that this does not work in 5.0 but it works in 4.0. The translator code itself looks quite standard and I can't see anything special there. @dstillman Any ideas?
  • It's calling the Embedded Metadata translator as an 'import' translator rather than a 'web' translator. I'm not sure why that worked in 4.0, but most other translators pass 'web', and it works if you change it.

The actual error ("ReferenceError: detectImport is not defined") is getting swallowed here, so we'll fix that to make issues like this clearer in the future.
  • Ah, I see, and actually I created an issue about this some time ago: https://github.com/zotero/translators/issues/1120 . Now, it is clear how to deal with these cases, and I will try to fix them.

@Jon%20Rubin A translator fix is now up. Your version of Zotero will automatically update within 24hs, or you can update manually using the "Update Now" button in the "General" tab of the Zotero preferences. If you're using Standalone, restart Zotero and your browser after updating. Any further problems let us know & thanks for reporting.
  • (You should actually get translator updates in 5.0 within a few minutes as long as it's set to automatically check for updates, so it's no longer necessary to click Update Now there. For the moment you do need to click Update Now in the Advanced ->Translators section of the Zotero Connector preferences or wait up to 24 hours, but we're hoping to remove that delay as well in the near future.)
  • Thanks both, the Brill translator is now working.
