Journal of Medical Internet Research
Please create a CSL style for the Journal of Medical Internet Research. The style is most similar to the American Medical Association Style Manual. Exceptions, specifically for journal articles, include journal titles are not italicized, there is no period after the journal title and before the year (i.e. ...JAMA 2012;...), the PMID is added after the page numbers (i.e. ...927-934. PMID:1234567). Most pronounced is the difference with in-text citation where the AMA style uses superscript arabic numerals and the JMIR uses normal text arabic numberals in square brackets (i.e. [1]). Please see the Journal of Medical Internet Research instructions for authors at www.jmir.org/cms/view/instructions_for_authors:instructions_for_authors_of_JMIR . Compare with 10th ed AMA Manual of Style or examples published at http://library.tamu.edu/help/help-yourself/citing-sources/files/using-the-ama-style.pdf. Thanks in advance for your timely assistance.
Vancouver with brackets seems to fix the need for in-text brackets and normal text journal title, but still includes a period after the journal title and does not include PMID.
Do you know how to change a csl style and make one for jmir?
Correct links from above:
http://library.tamu.edu/help/help-yourself/citing-sources/files/Using-the-AMA-Style.pdf
http://www.jmir.org/cms/view/Instructions_for_Authors:Instructions_for_Authors_of_JMIR
if there's a problem with that, you'll have to be more specific.
3. DO use a semicolon (;) after a journal title before the year, put volume number in parenthesis, and use a colon (:) before the page numbers.
4. Titles should be in sentence case (do NOT capitalize the first letter of every word).
Also: They REQUIRE use of Webcite AND the original URL. Possible?
I've just requested some fixes (right click and save as: https://raw.githubusercontent.com/damnation333/styles/887639916b188b9e56dbab0584cdddf89656d7d0/journal-of-medical-internet-research.csl)
- Can you check that if you put a webcite link into the extra field in Zotero, it shows up?
- There was no italics in this style anywhere. Not sure why you mentioned it?
- There is no periods after authors initials. Not sure why you mentioned it?
- Semicolon after journal title: this is not specified in their guidelines.
- I've added the ISBN for books.
- Removed et al.
- Capitalize all: it's set correctly set in the CSL, so that is wrong in your entries in Zotero. ;)
I'm putting a link for a webcite in the Extra field, but nothing is showing up. Any ideas?
We've taken the webcite-via-extra-field-function out of the code for the general public via the Zotero Repository.
But of course nobody hinders you at using the style I've created initially: https://raw.githubusercontent.com/POBrien333/styles/887639916b188b9e56dbab0584cdddf89656d7d0/journal-of-medical-internet-research.csl
How do I go about fixing my original document. E.g. I have applied new style; deleted bibliography, re-inserted bibliography. But the webcite still doesnt seem to appear? Any ideas?
Thanks for the help on this!
I can insert the given reference into a new document and it works fine, but it doesnt seem to update in the old document, even after changing to an entirely different style and back...
