Hoping someone can advise: I have installed 5.0 and have an empty local library. Want to restore by syncing with the Zotero server. My library exists on zotero.org, but is the only version I have of it currently and I am slightly nervous. Can I create a back-up of online library before syncing?
How did you come to have an empty local library? Just by installing a fresh copy of Zotero? Or did you delete everything in Zotero?
If it’s just a fresh copy, simply syncing will work fine. In fact, that is exactly what sync is intended for. Zotero only deletes items that have been explicitly deleted in the client/online.
