Editing CSL file doesn't alter bibliography format
I'm trying to format my bibliography following the Astrophysical Journal format. I've downloaded the CSL file but it doesn't sort the bibliography alphabetically. This seems like an easy fix by adding
within the bibliography tag. But doing so has no impact on the bibliography in my word document. I've tried so many variations on the above tags with no success. What am I missing? I would like it to match this style (https://www.zotero.org/styles/the-astrophysical-journal) but sort the bibliography by author name instead of by citation number.
Thanks!

on getting your edited style back into Zotero. Make sure you actually use a different stylename and ID in your customized style.
Am I understanding you correctly that the current style for the astrophyical journal is incorrect for that journal or did you want an alphabetized version for another reason?
Ah I was using the same stylename and ID (trying to replace the Astrophysical Journal CSL I had before). I changed the name and it worked. Thanks so much!
