That never went anywhere, and I honestly think in its current state it's completely useless, so there's no real "how to". It certainly could be fixed (starting by repairing the search), but I'm not sure that's high on the agenda. Mendeley invested a good deal more into the social network aspect of its product and that never really took of, either.
