ALEPH Vienna University Library (error report ID 371874488)

Zotero does not seem to get along very well with the ALEPH-based catalogue of Vienna's university library.
The problem was already mentioned in this forum in February 2008 by user "etm" (http://forums.zotero.org/discussion/2182/httpalephunivieacat/) But there was no answer and Zotero still doesn't seem to work with this catalogue, even after I tried all the troubleshooting steps.

Support for this large catalogue would be much appreciated!

Additional info:
This is an example for one of the books Zotero did not like (sorry for the monstrous link): http://aleph.univie.ac.at/F/BG6VDMRJTUTLA6DVI6CBHMV7R6MMIMIHHS5GFHVP5HQUM47YAK-70055?func=full-set-set&set_number=038291&set_entry=000006&format=999

And this is the error message Zotero gave:
[JavaScript Error: "newItem.title is undefined" {file: "chrome://zotero/content/xpcom/translate.js" line: 654}]
(Report-ID is: 371874488)

(The funny thing is, though, that after countless tries, I was able to save one book reference from that catalogue into Zotero, without doing anything special. One. Then, it stopped working again and I haven't been able to save a reference since. So... the translator works only when it wants to? :)

Thanks for your help and for the awesomeness that is Zotero!
  • Dortel,
I have been doing some testing and the translator usually works. Sometimes I find it throws an error when I'm on a flaky internet connection (such as at a coffee shop), are you on a wired or wireless connection? The link you sent doesn't appear to be working (it just gives me the search page). Could you send some other broken links?

    thanks!
  • mcburton,

    thanks for your reply!
I've tried around a bit and I've found that it sometimes works and sometimes not. It doesn't seem to depend on the item I want to save, it just randomly works either on the first try, or after a few tries and reloads, or not at all.

To answer your question about my internet connection: it's indeed a wireless one but at home, so it's usually very stable and reliable. And about the links: I'm sorry, I've tried but the system doesn't seem to allow direct links to a catalogue entry, it always redirects to the main page.

And I've been able to save most of the problematic items anyway after trying for a while, or by trying again a few hours later. (No idea why, though.) So I guess I'm okay?

Thanks very much for your help, though!
