ZoteroFile error

Hi All,

I have this msg keeps to pop out all the time:

"The source folder is not valid. Please change the source folder under Zotero-Actions-Zotfile Preferences. You might have to use a custom folder."


What's wrong?

    Okay I found the solution.

    Choose a file path for the "Source Folder" in the Zotfile preferences.

    Yep, got it now - thanks. For anyone else, Zotfile Preferences (*not* Zotero Preferences) is accessed via the gear icon in Zotero Standalone menu bar, which is sometimes referred to as 'Zotero Actions' (perhaps it's called this in the Firefox version?). This took me some time to find.

    That menu is gone entirely in the upcoming Zotero 5.0, so I wouldn't worry too much about it.

    Well maybe not but the descriptions of how to access Zotfile Preferences already need to be updated, so that will already compound the problem I suppose.

    Why does the Source Folder matter if Zotero makes a local copy of the PDF?

    The source folder is something different -- it's where ZotFile looks for new files you may want to attach to Zotero.
