sync hanging on "getting updated data from sync server"

problem reproduced after restarting zotero standalone and restarting computer
  • How long are you letting it run and what version of Zotero are you on? If you have a very large sync, it is likely just working and restarting Zotero just forces the process to restart.
  • thanks. v 4.0.29.10; 5,600 items. problem resolved. eventually got message "Conflicts have suspended automatic syncing. Click the sync icon to resolve them." The odd thing was that I had received the same message, pertaining to the same three items, a day or so earlier, and I had already clicked to resolve the conflicts. Another odd thing was that one of the conflicts pertained to an item that I had not changed for months, yet I had been syncing between the same two computers on a daily basis. In any event, after I again resolved the conflicts, it's working fine now; I appreciate the help.
  • These sorts of weird non-conflicts work much better in Zotero 5.0, which is in beta and should be released fully very shortly.
