Install libre office / open office plugin in macos sierra?

I can't seem to do it - probably because I need 32-bit JRE and can't get that to install either? Anyone having those issues? Hope I'm not overlooking another thread.

    Paulo did it work for you before the update to Sierra? Or before the update to a certain version of Libre Office?

    I just checked "enable experimental features" in libre office, settings, advanced and it works - phew....

    In case this helps anyone else here's how I got Zotero, Sierra and LibreOffice 5 to work together on a new install.

    Install latest JDK from Oracle. I installed Java 8.121.
    When this is installed open terminal and type 'java -version'. This prompts install of a JRE.
    Now open Libreoffice and check whether the JRE is listed in 'Preferences > LibreOffice > Advanced'.
    Now close LibreOffice and try installing the Zotero word processor integration.
