Invalid Response from Server; Persistent Problem Since October 2016.

My last successful sync was on the 1st of October 2016. Since that time, I have consistently received an 'Invalid Response from Server' Error.

I thought it was something on the server side and did not think much of it at the time, but after 100 days of not being able to sync (which I pay for) it is becoming a sore tooth... Any assistance would be GREATLY appreciated :) Below is a copy of the error report ID# 1318817976 (error text below).

Sync automatically on/off both produces the error.

  • Sorry about that — how about now?
  • (For what it's worth, the upcoming Zotero 5.0 should handle large libraries like yours much better.)
  • Thanks :) Its working now... I tried the Zotero 5.0 beta before posting, but it was getting hung-up on 'updating database' (or something like that) upon opening after installation, so I went back to the stable release version.
  • Zotero 5.0 is going to be released very soon, so if you were having trouble upgrading, that'd be something we'd want to fix — otherwise you're just going to see the same thing as soon as 5.0 comes out.

Oh, actually, scratch that — I forgot that there's a known issue upgrading databases with a large number of attachments to 5.0, so that's probably what you were seeing. So no point debugging this further until a fix for that is in place.
  • Okay, good to know. If you need me to test it out once a fix is in place let me know.
