Zotero not opening in word

Zotero is not opening in my word files, it was fine yesterday. I have a chrome extension. Do I need to reinstall it?

You mean you don't see the Zotero toolbar in Word? From Zotero Standalone try re-installing the Word add-on from the Cite tab of the preferences.

I just did that but it did not work, I reinstalled everything but it still did not work. This is becoming a frustrating system to use as it seems to crash regularly!

Zotero disappearing from Word is almost certainly due to some change to your Word -- the Zotero toolbar is just a template in the Word startup folder.

The first thing to check would be if Zotero is listed under "Word Add-ins" in the Word developer tab (this is assuming Word 2010+) and if so if it's checked. If not, you'd want to check your Word Startup folder and see if Zotero.dotm is in there https://www.zotero.org/support/windows_word_plugin_manual_installation_instructions#locating_your_word_startup_folder

zotero is listed as disabled in the add in sections of word 2007.
It is not listed in the advanced section.
How do I insert it in here or link it?

Can you enable it in the add-in section? That'd be the way to go. If you can't that would suggest a Word security setting of some type. Is this your computer or an institutional/corporate one?

It is a private computer. So I will try to enable it in the add in section. Wow I am getting an education here! how do I do that?
