The translator in question is for the Gale Newspaper archive. 'An error occurred while saving this item. The translator name is correct (Galegroup) and an Error Report has been submitted as per the above ID.

Obviously this is the result of a search, and through my university's proxy server. However other translators work perfectly so I do not think it is a proxy issue. To aid replication I am accessing the Daily Mail's archive via the Gale Group with a search for 'bombing italy' between 11 June 1940 and 31 May 1945.

I can try to take a look -- I have very limited Gale access, but I think I'm able to replicate this.

My students are using Zotero in Firefox and Chrome. They are experiencing the same issue that JulianMHall describes above. GALE Literature Resource Center database through EBSCO Discovery Service. Click on Save to Zotero using GaleGroup. The saving box appears with the Folder it should be saving into but it does not save at all. Save to Zotero using as Webpage works.
Any ideas about how to fix this issue?

We are back from winter break and again trying to use Zotero but having this issue with GALE Literature Resource Center that I described above. Is there any movement to fix this issue with GALE.

I'd like to echo concern for fixing the Gale translator. We have over 4,000 ejournals coming from their databases, so a fix would help a lot!

Right click -> Save to Zotero (Embedded Metadata) works, but the default Save to Zotero (Galegroup) does not. I also would like to see this fixed, but in the interim it would be nice if the default behavior for Gale could be changed to the functional option.

just to say why this is taking so long -- Gale has a huge number of different services, many of which are using different structures and fixing this properly requires to make an inventory and fix and test them all.
