eMails in Zotero

Hi Guys,

i use 2 emails from bookauthors as source for my thesis. How can i save this too Zotero? I need this for my bibliography in APA 6TH Edition. And would you do the Emails in the attachement?

Greetings
  • I'd have to double check, but I'm pretty sure APA frowns on citing personal communication as literature. Rather, you should just mention it in the text. (Whether you attach the emails in Zotero is entirely up to you. I personally would, but it makes no functional difference)
  • Yes, APA specifies to only cite an email in the text with author initials:

    (B. Wiernik, 29 July, 2015, personal communication)

@adamsmith, is it possible to omit items of a particular type from the bibliography using CSL?
  • @bwiernik -- you can sort by item type and thus sort them to the bottom (where they're easy to delete.) I think you could also replace them by a space or something like that there, but that's a bit hack-ish. It's not possible to complete ignore them (empty references trigger a CSL error message).

I also prefer to cite them in a reasonable format for people who really want to, though I see the appeal of automating this correctly for each style.
