Publisher field in journal article

Hello everyone,

I noticed that the journal article entry does not accept a publisher field! It seems like a very important field, specially for thesis / dissertations where the bibliography is not space constrained (as it is in some conference or even journal articles).

Any plans to include that? It seems not very complicated to do.

  • This is planned for the next revision of the Zotero item types: https://github.com/ajlyon/zotero-bits/issues/16

It would be useful, though, if you could provide documentation for a citation style or journal that requires publisher information for journal articles, so that we have more supporting evidence that this truly is necessary information.
  • You know, after looking up I realized my biblatex styles were actually ignoring the publisher field. I think I put them in my previous databases because I had that information available. It's in fact only for conference papers that the publisher field is printed.

Anyways... it's good that it is planned for the next revision.

    Cheers,

  • Hi,

If you refer to WorldCat, there are many instances of bibliographical entries for Journals including a publisher. Is there still a plan to include an entry for publisher in any future zotero update? Its just that I noticed this discussion is dated 2011 and yet still, the version I downloaded only a few weeks back also excludes publisher details? Thanks
  • Still planned--no field updates have made it since 2011 (actually more like since 2008)
  • Might this be coming in 2016?
