Reporting spam via SpamCop

Since there is no movement in updating this forum's spam filters .. still using Vanilla 1.1.5a .. I've started reporting spam (which hits both this forum and my email account) via my SpamCop account.

  • you're also reporting Zotero as the website referenced in the spam. That's both unfortunate and incorrect... I assume AWS ignores individual reports, but if many people were to follow your example, that'd cause problems.
  • Yes, please don't do that. We're working to get an updated Vanilla as soon as possible, but forum spam is removed within seconds in many cases and hours at worst. If you don't want to see it in your email, unsubscribe to forum notifications for the time being. Reporting the Zotero website or Zotero email addresses for spam is totally inappropriate.
  • Understood. Sorry about that.

Spamcop allows me to be selective and to uncheck the Amazon reports but focus on the spam source.

This has worked for me before (indeed from the same .nl source).

I haven't seen any spam since the test report.
