Identifier not working, Word Plugin not downloading

After updating firefox the word plugin will not download: Error Message states connection to Zotero server failed.

    Pretty sure that's not the exact message you're getting. (Be sure to provide the exact message, untranslated.) I'd guess that you're getting this: https://www.zotero.org/support/kb/addon_could_not_be_downloaded

    Full error message is The add-on could not be downloaded Because of a connection failure on www.zotero.org

    Strangely Download via Iexplorer worked for the Word Plugin. Will attempt for the Firefpx extension and report.

    Not strange — see the linked page (which also explains the downside of using another browser to do the download instead of disabling the software on your system that's breaking this).

    Installed 4.0.25.2, Checked with DOI: Error still there. (Zotero could not find a record for the specified identifier. Please verify the identifier and try again.)

    I checked witha few DOIs, some of them already attached and stored in Zotero. No luck.

    Checked with ISBN: worked.

    CrossRef, where we're retrieving DOI metadata, is returning a 404 for requests. I'd guess this is a temporary glitch, but we'll keep an eye on it.

    I figured out the problem. Avast was blocking Zotero. I turned off Avast and was able to re-install both Zotero and the Word plugin. Thanks for the prompt response!
