Zotero Stand alone does not recognize my credentials

Hello,

I have just installed Zotero.
However, I am trying to sync but I keep getting an error message saying that the server did not accept my user name and password.

Is it because my user name contains a "ç" and a "~"?

SInce I cannot change my user nam, what can I do?
