Can't save data from Amazon

Hi, I've been having issues saving book data from Amazon (US, DE, JP). I get an error message ("Could Not Save Item: An error occurred while saving this item") when I click on the translator icon. For example, I can't save any of the following books into Zotero:

http://amzn.com/0521789842

http://www.amazon.de/dp/1907166718

http://www.amazon.co.jp/dp/4003314212

[CORRECTED]
I'm using Zotero 4.0.22 under Firefox 33 (beta).

On a side note, it would be nice if the fields for the surname and the forename can be reversed for the Amazon Japan translator, since the surname comes first in Japanese names.
  • I can't reproduce the error, but the Amazon translator was recently updated. Could you update your translator via Preferences -> General -> Update Now, reload the page and try again?

I fixed the name order for Japanese/Chinese names.

Hmmm... strange. It still doesn't work for me. Can my Amazon translator be broken somehow...? I have no problems saving, say, articles from JSTOR.

    [UPDATE]
    Here is the error log:

  • There's no error in there. Are you using Zotero Standalone as well?

Please provide a Debug ID and an Error ID for an attempt to save from one of the pages linked above.
  • I hope I did it properly. Here they are:

    Debug ID: D1057198777
    Error ID: 735376090

I'm using Zotero as a Firefox add-on, running under Ubuntu 14.04.1 and Firefox 33 (beta 7).
  • Error: Permission denied to pass object to chrome
I can reproduce this. I don't think translator saving works properly with the Firefox 33 beta yet. Mozilla has been making lots of security changes in the last few versions, and I don't think Simon has fixed things with 33 yet. But at the very least, if you're running a Firefox beta you probably want to be running the Zotero beta, since that's where compatibility fixes go first (though it won't help with this yet).
  • Thanks for your suggestion. Just received an update through the beta branch that resolves this issue (version 4.0.23-beta.r10+39b01b8). The translator is now working again with Amazon US, DE, JP.
