Problems with "et al."

Hi,

I am working on this style for quite some time and can't figure out how to change this:

(Zotero example)
"Accadia, T.; Acernese, F.;... Zhang, Z.(2012)."
I want to have it like this:
"Accadia, T.; Acernese, F.; Alshourbagy, M.; Zhang, Z. et al.(2012)."

To put this in words: In case of more than four autors I want "et al." to show up. I already compared it to other styles but couldn't figure it out. Also the "et-al-min" and "et-al-use-first" didn't work out.

Thanks for your help!
Best regards
J. W.
  • the first example (which is the way APA requires entries to look) is called by et-al-use-last="true" If you take that out or set it to false you'll get what you want.
  • Thanks for your answer. I used to have this option as "false". I tried again but there's no change. If I set the option for the inline citations, it works just fine. I have no clue what's wrong in the style that those dots won't disappear...
    Do you have any ideas?
    Thanks again!
  • I'd have to see the style (paste as a public gist to gist.github.com ). Also, how are you testing this? Remember if you modify a citation style you need to change to a different style and back for changes to take effect in an existing Word or LibreOffice document.

    here it is.

Well, first it doesn't change in the visual editor and I'm testing it with entries in my Zotero library, so I create new bibliographies with that edited style.
    Does that help you?
  • that style still has et-al-use-last="true" in the bibliography, line 397:

  • Now I finally got it.
Thank you so much for your help!
