Zotero Integration Error

I installed the Word Processor Plugin 3.1.17. When I try to add citations in Word, I get the following message,

"Zotero Integration Error: Zotero could not load the component required to communicate with your word processor. Please ensure the appropriate extension is installed and try again".

Any advice?
  • In the Firefox Add-ons pane, is the Zotero Word integration plugin installed and enabled?

Can you provide a Report ID?
  • When I click on the menu button in FireFox > Add-ons > Plugins, Microsoft Office 2010 is turned on to "Always Activate". Is this what you are referring to? I'm not sure where to find or confirm if the Zotero Word Integration plugin is installed in Firefox.

    Report ID: 1582769937

    Thanks.
  • No, I'm talking about the "Zotero Word for Windows Integration" extension, in the Extensions tab.
  • Zotero 4.0.21.5 is enabled under Extensions. Should there be another one enabled?
  • Yes. First, it should be Zotero 4.0.22, so make sure to update, but also you should have Zotero Word for Windows Integration 3.1.17
    Install from here: https://www.zotero.org/support/word_processor_plugin_installation#microsoft_word
  • When I tried to install this plug-in, I got the following message:

The file Zotero WinWord Plugin 3.1.17 cannot be opened because there are problems with the contents. Details >> Microsoft Office cannot open this file because some parts are missing or invalid.
  • You should be trying to install this in Firefox (i.e. simply open it there) is that what you're doing?
  • Got it! It worked. Thank you!
