can't complete installation of standalone - W7

Hi

I'm trying to complete the installation of Zotero standalone on a new Windows 7 PC and its just not working. Various odd things are happening:
1) It says it needs to restart, but then doesn't restart
2) I was being asked to register (which I see from elsewhere is part of the installation process) but when I've gone through the process again can't get to this point - due to 1) above.

Looking at other posts I've checked for zotero.exe but it isn't on the PC.

I have migrated by Zotero library from my old machine as I had been using it in the browser, and can see all that fine, but need to use standalone now - could this be part of the problem? If so, any solutions?

Hope someone can help as its driving me nuts!

    2)you're already registered. You don't need to register your copy of Zotero for it to run, it's free software. Registration is only necessary to provide you with a username and password for syncing and online access (which you already have).

    1)Have you just closed and re-opened Zotero? That's all that restart is.
