can't complete installation of standalone - W7

Hi

I'm trying to complete the installation of Zotero standalone on a new Windows 7 PC and its just not working. Various odd things are happening:
1) It says it needs to restart, but then doesn't restart
2) I was being asked to register (which I see from elsewhere is part of the installation process) but when I've gone through the process again can't get to this point - due to 1) above.

Looking at other posts I've checked for zotero.exe but it isn't on the PC.

I have migrated by Zotero library from my old machine as I had been using it in the browser, and can see all that fine, but need to use standalone now - could this be part of the problem? If so, any solutions?

Hope someone can help as its driving me nuts!

  • 2)you're already registered. You don't need to register your copy of Zotero for it to run, it's free software. Registration is only necessary to provide you with a username and password for syncing and online access (which you already have).

    1)Have you just closed and re-opened Zotero? That's all that restart is.
