My zotero library is not syncing to my computer

I have a new computer and have reset up my zotero so I can add new refs etc. But I cannot get my library (which I can see on my online account and the standalone zotero which I also downloaded) into the zotero that I have downloaded.

Hence I cannot save a references from the browser into my current folders. I need to populate zotero on my computer with my library. The browser does not save to the standalone...does it?

The sync button does its thing and seems to go through the motions but still does not populate. Please advise.

    What do you mean by "the zotero that I have downloaded"? You should only need Zotero Standalone, and the Zotero connector plugin for your (non-Firefox?) browser.

    On a standard install, though, if you have Standalone and the Firefox version installed, they share a data directory, so it would be surprising if you have items in Standalone but not in Zotero for Firefox. So I'd start with this:
